Obituary

Vicente Guadarrama Millán, son of God, loving husband and father, transitioned from this life to life everlasting at the age of 57. Vicente was born January 27, 1963 in Villa Guerrero, Estado de México to Antonio Guadarrama Gomez and María de la Luz Millán Pedroza. As a child he was adventurous, dutiful, and was raised to love God. This deeply rooted faith, led him to feel a calling toward priesthood as a young adult. After two years of pre-theology studies, he discerned his true calling was to be a father. One day while visiting Oaxaca, he met Araceli Cruz, his beloved wife. On Easter Sunday, March 31, 1991, he married Araceli in Villa Guerrero, Estado de Mexico. The newlyweds moved to Southern California for a couple of years, and then to Royal City, Washington to be closer to Vicente's brothers (Santos and Nemesio). Vicente had many occupations in his life, but he was mainly a carpenter by trade. He loved to use his hands to build, fix, and create. Outside of work, Vicente was deeply devoted to St. Michael's Archangel Catholic Church. For over 20 years, he sang and played guitar in the church choir and for 18 years he taught first communion catechism. He will be remembered by the Royal City community as a man of faith, a teacher, friend, and loving husband and dad. Between 1992 and 2000, Vicente and Araceli had five children: Veronica, Abraham, Antonio, Guadalupe, and Elizabeth. His children will remember Vicente as a devoted and present father. He taught his children to have faith, work hard, pursue knowledge, and love one another. He will be dearly missed. In September 2020, Vicente was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Vicente, instead of questioning God or wallowing in self-pity, he trusted God and offered his suffering up to Him. Even in his hardest moments, Vicente embraced his faith and believed in God's everlasting promises. Vicente is preceded in death by his parents Maria de la Luz Millan Pedroza and Antonio Guadarrama Gomez; siblings Aristeo and Nemesio; and nephew Marcos Cruz Santarrosa. Vicente is survived by his wife Araceli Guadarrama Cruz, his five children, seven siblings (Juan, Petra, Vidal, Delfina, Santos, Ireneo, and Maria del Carmen) and 34 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at St. Michael's Archangel Catholic Church at 2 o'clock p.m. The Guadarrama family would like to thank all for their outpour of love and support during this time. May God bless you forever.
