Obituary

Roger Gordon Riley, of Quincy, Washington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 27, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1960, to Max V. Riley and Beverley M. Riley in Arcadia, California. The family lived in Covina and later Arcadia, where Roger attended school. He played Little League baseball and became a talented outfielder. As a boy, Roger took piano lessons and continued to play throughout his life, becoming a skilled keyboardist and composer of his own music. Roger enjoyed many adventurous summers at the family cabin in Sequoia National Forest with his brothers, sister & cousins. In 1977, most of the family moved to Bellingham, Washington, where Roger graduated from high school and held several jobs before moving to Quincy, Wa in 2008. Roger worked in the agriculture industry and met the love of his life, Rosa Rivera. They shared a love of gardening and cultivated a beautiful garden with lush fruit trees at home. The couple enjoyed the outdoors—camping, kayaking, and mountain biking together. Roger was a self-taught mechanic who could fix anything and helped countless friends and relatives with his skills. Roger will be remembered for his sharp wit, his loving devotion to Rosa, to his loyal dog Lizzie, and to his entire family.
