Obituary

Rachel Eveline Eason Kendall was born April 12, 1950, in Mesa, Arizona. She was the only girl and had 3 brothers- Francis, Edward Alvin (Al), and Leo. She was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at eight years of age and held onto her faith throughout her life, sharing her testimony of Christ and the gospel with her children both through word and action. During her life, she lived in several states, including Arizona, California, Utah, Idaho, and Washington, with most of her childhood in California. She loved family, dancing, singing, family history, cooking, swimming, and personal growth. She learned to love singing from a young age and sang in the All-State Choir, along with her brother Leo, and at Stake Conferences. She took ballet as a child and participated in competitive swimming. She also performed in many theatre productions, including Show Boat, Loggers Lament, Sound of Music (nun), and Fiddler on the Roof (Golda), to name a few.

Rachel married John White on November 21, 1970, and they had eight children. She taught her children how to cook, clean, garden, can, and serve others, both by instruction and by example. She helped with 4H, won ribbons in the county fair for her baking and canning, and served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rachel separated from John in 1986 and divorced him in 1989. She moved to Moscow, Idaho, in 1988 to go back to school. She worked on completing her Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design while raising eight children as a single mother. Pursuing this goal showed her children the importance of education and persevering in the face of challenges.

She met her best friend, Charles Kendall, and they were married on August 14, 1992, going from being a mother of 8 children to a mother of 13. Although the older children had already moved out of the house before mom and dad married, mom and dad made an effort to make his and hers become ours. Mom kept busy caring for family, serving others, supporting dad in his work and church callings, and studying to reach her goals.

Many friends and family remember her beautiful Soprano voice shared in church, community and state choirs, theatre productions, and at home with family. She had a passion for family history and spent many hours researching genealogy for family and friends over the years. Rachel also had a green thumb that she used to bless her family and others.

Rachel was found deceased in her home in Royal Camp, WA on January 7, 2021. She is survived by her three brothers and their spouses: Francis (Mary Kay), Al (Sharon), and Leo (Janis), her children and their spouses: Carmen (Glen), Faye (Mike), Ben (Kim), Sherri (Rick), LeRae (Mark), Paul, Henri (Jesika), Catherine, Angelina (Derrick), Elena, Levi (Holly), Susanne, and Joy (Sam), 39 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, parents–in–law, and her husband, Charles Kendall. Her funeral will be January 22, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 357 Christensen Rd Royal Camp; Othello, WA 99344.
