Obituary

Kenneth James Peterson passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in Ephrata, Washington, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ken, who also went by "Kenny", "Jamie", and "Dad", was born August 7, 1950, in Wenatchee, Washington, to James (Colleen) LeRoy Peterson and Joyce Beazer Peterson (deceased). His surviving siblings are Kathy (Mike) Agrelious, Brad (Jeanne) Peterson, Chris Peterson (Teresa, deceased), Tammy (Kevin) Harper. Surviving children and grandchildren are Romayne Montana (Jim Miklo, fiance) (children, Zachary and Daniel Walker); and Zane (Jenny) Peterson (children, James, Philip, Joyce, and Elizabeth).

Kenny spent most of his life living around the Columbia River Basin.  His first years began out at the Colockum with Jim and Joyce near his grandfather, Christian LeRoy, who treasured Kenny and spent time with him whenever he could. As Jim took on working for Grant County PUD, the Peterson family moved to Wanapum Village, then Wenatchee, and finally settled in Quincy. It was during Kenny's teenage years that he spent time in Alberta, Canada with the Beazer clan. He loved his Canadian aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially since he was one of five Canadian cousins all born in the same year.

Dad had many interests, but was passionate about a few. He enjoyed fast motorcycles, classic hot rods,  politics, loud stereos, and spicy foods, but his true passion in life was his music and guitars.  He wrote and composed many great songs, and discovered later in life that he loved to build guitars as much as play them. He was a well-known local musician, having played for many events in the area throughout the years.

In addition to his music, Kenny will be most remembered for his loving kindness and generosity to his friends and neighbors; his tremendous and unconditional love for his children and grandchildren; and the special bond he had with his loyal dog, Charles.

A memorial service will be held in Kenny's honor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Relief Society room, Ephrata, Washington.
