James R
Castro
Dec 28, 1959 — Jan 7, 2020
Marysville
James Ross Castro Sr. (Coco), age 60, was born on December 28, 1959 in Arlington, CA part of Riverside County. He made a peaceful transition to his heavenly life on Tuesday January 7, 2020 In Everett WA, where he recently moved to be with his oldest son. He was surrounded by his family when he took his final breaths on earth.
At the age of nine James's family relocated to Quincy, WA to be closer to his grandmother Candelaria Castaneda- Rocha Castro where he grew up. He was married in May 1980 to Geneva Castro and started his family. He moved his young family to Madera CA in the early 80's where he raised his 5 children. He was a hard worker and did what it took to take care of his wife and children. He worked as an operator in the fruit industry for many years. He had a side business towing cars, a job he absolutely loved doing. In his adventures he was able to hear people's stories and with his big heart would often give them steep discounts in order to help them out. In 1996 his mother became ill so he moved his family back to Moses Lake where he spent the rest of his life. He left a lasting impression on many people in Quincy, Yakima and Moses Lake. James was a well respected man. He was very selfless in sacrificing to be there to help others. He was the type of man who brought in and took care of other family members as needed. It was hard for him to say no when he felt in his heart that he could help someone better themselves. Even though on the outside he looked and carried himself a strong man, he was truly a soft hearted, kind and loving person. James had a special bond in one way or another with all of his nieces and nephews. He made sure they all knew he loved them. His cousins growing up and all through their adulthood respected his input and advice. He loved watching his Raiders play, win or lose he was always a fan. From Spring to Fall he enjoyed throwing BBQ's and spending time with whoever wanted a good meal. At every BBQ you could guarantee he would be listening to his oldies. He had a passion for fishing. It gave him time to relax and to relive moments that were important to him. Even when he caught nothing the down time was important to him. He also loved playing pool when ever he could get away and find the time.
James is preceded in death by both his parents Joe & Priscilla Castro, his brothers Micheal Herrera (Tiger) and Richard Castro and his sister Sally Castro (Lollie).
His is survived by his current wife Felipa Castro, sons James (Miranda), Amador (Lisa), Adam (Natalie) and his daughters Krystal (Damian) and Priscilla. He is also survived by 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 4 step children and 25 grandchildren who he adored and loved very deeply. He will be missed by all the lives he touched.
His children would like to express gratitude for all who have showed the Castro family love and support through this hard time.
